Des Moines Homes and Gardens
OK. I know I ask a lot of you, but I’m hoping you’ll help me out one more time. I’ve started a blog that focuses on cool Des Moines homes called small.town.In.
What I need from you is (A) your opinion about this concept (PLEASE! So important!) and (B) submissions. The only way I can make this work is to have readers and friends submit photos of their interiors and/or gardens. I’ll interview the home owners, maybe take a few more shots and post them ASAP. Sort of a little Apartment Therapy website just for Des Moines. That, or we can wait for them to come to us - ha!
I’d love to have a full collection of historic homes, lofts, bungalows, rentals - you name it. If you live in a BH&G model home - please submit. If your home was on a walking tour - love to see it!
I need feedback and submissions ASAP because as soon as the big media sees this idea, I’ll be SO Outta Luck.
Thanks, guys! Love you!

I NEED apartment therapy, so I'll gladly read. But as for submissions...um. Yeah. I was looking at that picture with the red sofa thinking "I soooo need to rip off those paintings."
And apparently that is a doll house. How pathetic am I?
I was just going to say that being inspired by doll house decor is either (A) the ability to find inspiration anywhere or (B) a sign of desperation. I'm with you. In the middle of painting every room in my home white and it's to the point where I've covered my gray with white paint and I think I have white blindness. (It could also be the Dr. Phil episode I'm being forced to listen to because my husband took the iPod, I can't lift the TV, I had to push it scree-first up against the wall, I have DirectTV and I can't find the remote.
Love it, Love it, LOVE IT!!! I'm ALWAYS scouring Flickr for decorating ideas - kids rooms, nurseries, kitchens - you name it. I love the idea...please do it! But...beware of the people who have their home for sale and want to use you to get that word out (people like me....trying to bite their tongue to not send you pics/flyer - ha). Another great idea by Christi. =-)
LOVE the concept - as a submission, how about the home of graphic designer John Sayles? I believe he collects "mid-century modern" furniture and accessories, and has had his home featured in a few magazines. You might be able to find some pics on the internet, or just shoot an email to him at Sayles Graphic Design - he probably has some he would share!
